Congratulations to our Gary McComb (Technical Director), Shane Wright (Senior Site Manager) and our team that worked on the Reuben College Project at the University of Oxford after they picked up the ‘winners award’ for ‘Best Health & Safety & Environmental Performance 2020’. The £750,000 First Phase of the overall project, in the Grade II listed building in Oxfords Central Conservation Area, saw us carry out a full back to shell strip out under fully controlled conditions in the large upper basement area followed by the removal of large scale sprayed asbestos flock insulation and full decontamination of the plant areas in the lower basement. Ben Cushway, Morgan Sindall Project Director said, “Asbestech’s overall Health and Safety performance and project delivery was second to none. Their valued support and unyielding commitment has been greatly appreciated on this technically complex project which required constant interface between ourselves and the client’s Heritage, Design and Cost teams.”
Gary McComb said, “We are delighted to have won this award; it was a pleasure to work on such a prestigious project with Morgan Sindall for such a valued client and it is most refreshing to work for a team that take everybody’s welfare as seriously as we do. We are now part of the project team contributing to the study and investigations based on the RIBA Stage 4 scheme ‘back to budget’ review and helping the University in shaping the outcome of the following phases of redevelopment in the building.”
Asbestech now move forward to the Morgan Sindall National Awards.
