Western Power Distribution Framework

Asbestech Ltd have been awarded – for the second time running – the prestigious Framework Contract from Western Power Distribution to provide asbestos removal services across their entire estate. This involves remediation works at substations and other properties owned and managed by WPD, as well as the planned roll out of smart meters across their supply region.

The work in substations is classed as a high hazard area and as such our teams have to undergo training and accreditation from WPD and their training partners prior to attending site. Many sites also have a rigorous site specific induction programme.

This framework was awarded to Asbestech in 2013 for a two year contract, and in 2015 WPD awarded Asbestech a 3 year framework. For both submissions, a lengthy Prequalification and Tender process was followed that thoroughly vetted the market, including Asbestech, before award.

Asbestech’s bid was led by Phil Neville, Operations Director, who was delighted at the outcome. “Once again my team have shown that they are leading the industry in the specialist utility sector.
